ANCIENT GREEK: BEGINNERS AND REFRESHER

This course provides both an introduction to ancient Greek and an opportunity to delve into the nature of language in general, for our goal is to understand the linguistic patterns that make communication meaningful. Because of its peculiar linguistic system, ancient Greek allows us to trace more clearly the logical pathways in communication, which we will compare to analogous pathways in other languages. Our textbook includes a wide selection from ancient Greek literature, philosophy, history, science etc., so we will not only learn how to read and translate texts, but also how to discern the complex context behind it.
