Emily Finley is from Las Cruces, New Mexico and now lives in Southern California with her husband and three sons. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in Classics from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and her doctorate in Political Theory from The Catholic University of America. She has held postdoctoral appointments at Stanford University and Princeton University. Her first book, The Ideology of Democratism, examines a modern, idealistic understanding of “democracy” that has little to do with popular rule and instead serves as a powerful vehicle for progressive ambitions. Her research and writing focus on political ideology, the history of ideas, epistemology, and Christianity and culture.
