Description:
The Winter’s Tale, one of the late Shakespeare plays often referred to as “romances”, is something of a shocking play.  It seems like a strange concatenation of tragedy and comedy, and its plot peculiarly strains our credulity.  In this webinar, we will attend to these notable properties of the play and will better understand them, as well as better appreciate the play’s beauty and power, by dwelling on and unpacking the play’s structure and unity, its principal themes, and its nexus of images.
